Large Colorful Original Vintage Stanley Hagler Original Vintage Bird on a Nest centerpiece beaded rare brooch

This is sooo Hagler, I call this High Hagler.

This brooch is one of only 2 designed by Ian St. Gielar for Stanley Hagler.
It is oversized at nearly 5 inches in diameter.
It is signed on the back with both the Hagler signature plaque
and the Ian St. Gielar signature plaque.
It is an incredible hand made artisan piece and truly rare.

The bird was made to look like carved I vory.
This brooch features a faux I vory bird sitting on a lavish nest is created with over 1500 tiny glass beads,
pearls, punctuated with spikes of natural coral and mother of pearl!
The "nest" is very 3 dimensional.
The other companion piece to this remains in a private collection,
this prominent collector has donated a large collection of Hagler to the Corning Glass Museum in NY


Most Likely from the late 90's

Gold gilt on filigree is very good.

These were made by Ian St. Gielar who for many years was Stanley Hagler's head designer.
These came directly to the collector from Ian St.Gielar
These are New Old Stock, part of stock that was aquired by Ann M. Pitman,
Author of the famous Juliana Jewelry Reference Book,
Ann is an advanced Hagler collector and was working with Ian on a book.
These pieces were acquired just before Ian's tragic passing.
They have never been offered to the public, they have been in her private collection for years.
This is a particularly rare style with the figural bird.
