Designer Kenneth J. Lane created this awesome Retro Deco Faux Onyx and Pearl necklace with matching black enamel and crystal rhinestone earrings. This necklace is KJL "Treasures of the Duchess" tassel necklace. From his Duchess of Windsor collection.
Duchess of Windsor
The Duchess of Windsor’s ribald sense of humor made her a perfect partner in crime for Kenneth Jay Lane with whom she enjoyed a two-decade long friendship. Lane met the duchess in the 1960s through Harper’s Bazaar editor Diana Vreeland. The two saw each other in New York, where the duke and duchess kept an apartment at the Waldorf and at their villa in Paris. While the duchess enjoyed a world-famous fine jewelry collection she also enjoyed the many fashion pieces bestowed upon her by Kenneth (but promptly paid for by her husband the duke), many of which are still in production today.
The necklace measures 32 inches. Earrings are clip and are 1 inch by 7/8 inch enamel with rhinestones, excellent condition.
This has a fabulous look! Can be worn casual or formal style.
It is signed, in very good vintage condition.
The pearls on this necklace have a sort of pebbly finish, I believe all rhinestones are present, I always scrutinize each piece before shipping.
